Mike Staten, President of BNA and Board member of the UCDA, Union County Development Association, presented Allyson Beard a $500 college scholarship from the UCLA, Union County Leadership Academy.  The Academy ‘s purpose is to sharpen leadership skills and community awareness with the hope that those selected for the academy will exert a strong positive influence that will benefit our entire County.  The scholarship is voted on by fellow students in the Academy.  It represents a student who displays leadership characteristics throughout the program.
